The Lakeland Arts Trust venues are all ideally situated for a perfect day visit, the information below is for 'Behind the Scenes' Group Visits to the Windermere Steamboat Museum. For information about Group Visits to Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House and Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry, click here.
The Museum is closed to the public whilst the conservation works commence on the boats and plans for the redevelopment of the site are developed. However, we are now able to offer limited access to the site and collections to see behind the scenes of the project in progress. This opportunity will only be available to pre-booked of a minimum of 20 people, Monday to Friday.
As we are in the midst of developing the project our resources are very limited and so we are only able to offer a small number of visits. It is therefore advisable that you ring to check the availability for your preferred dates. We will then provisionally book that date for you until you send in the booking form.
Benefits for pre-booked visits
• Access to the site is restricted so this is the only opportunity to see the collection in store.
• Special access to the conservation workshop.
• FREE coach parking for the duration of the visit.
• Welcome by a member of staff.
• Guided tour of the collection and a talk about the project by a member of staff.
