Getting to the Museum
From the South by Car
Leave the M6 at junction 36 and follow signs for the South Lakes and Windermere (dual carriageway). At the island at the end of the dual carriageway take the second left, following signs for Windermere on the A591 for 7 miles. At Windermere, continue on the A591 until you arrive at a mini roundabout, take the first left on to the A592 (Rayrigg Road). Continue for 1 mile, the Museum is on your right.
From the North by Car
Leave the M6 at junction 40 and follow signs for Keswick (A66) and Windermere (A591) via Grasmere and Ambleside. After Troutbeck Bridge you arrive at a mini roundabout, take the third exit to A592 (Rayrigg Road). Continue for 1 mile, the Museum is on your right.
By Train
Oxenholme is the nearest main-line railway station, a connecting train will bring you into Windermere. From here buses are available to Bowness-on-Windermere, alternatively taxis are available from Windermere Station. The Museum is ½ mile from the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere.
