Windermere Steamboat Museum needs your help

The match fundraising total has now reached over £3 million showing the continuing support for the project. This level of support is fantastic and demonstrates how important the Museum is both locally and nationally, but we still need to raise a further £500,000 and we need your help to do it.

The total project value is £13.4 million and we have recently submitted our second round application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a confirmed grant of over £9 million. The final £500,000 will strengthen the match funding we have raised to date to help leverage £13 million investment in Cumbria.

The project has received generous support from a number of trusts including the Sir John Fisher Foundation, Wolfson Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, Headley Trust, J P Getty Jnr Charitable Trust and the Foyle Foundation and a £1.25 million award from Regional Growth Fund. We have also had very significant support from individual donors.

We launched the public campaign in December 2013 and were delighted with the response, raising over £20,000. We welcome any contribution to help us achieve our goal and be part of the legacy of Windermere and if you know someone that might be interested in the project please pass on the fundraising leaflet and help broaden our support.
